Policy Implementation

As technology consultants, IPT Design recognizes that we are able to make We recognise, as building Services Consultants, Long & Partners are able to make a key contribution to the design of environmentally friendly buildings.

Our objective is to minimise the environmental impact of our technology designs throughout the life cycle of the building. Namely,

  • Design
  • Construction/implementation.
  • Operation, maintenance and repair during its life.
  • The recycling or disposal of materials at the end of their useful life.

This objective is achieved by careful consideration in the choice of technology equipment, the selection of materials, installation practices and the philosophy of the design supporting low energy usage to provide a sustainable design.

We take an active role in the development of the building from a technology perspective and with particular regard to low energy equipment products, efficient environmental condition of technical spaces, consolidation of equipment to minimise energy demand and building management systems.

Through our QMS procedures we monitor and seek to reduce the environmental impact of our designs.

In terms of our business, we actively monitor the use of paper within our office, the majority of which is used for the issue of drawings and specifications. We encourage our staff and fellow professionals to use electronic data exchange systems whenever possible to reduce waste.

We manage and operate our own office, to minimise energy consumption and reduce waste.
